IFC Films has picked up the North American rights for Cold in July, new movie written and directed by Jim Mickle. The film appeared in the U.S. dramatic competition at the Sundance Film Festival.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Sehring, president of Sundance Selects/IFC Films said, "Jim Mickle is a major talent who has just delivered his best film yet and IFC Films could not be more excited to bring it to the large audience it so richly deserves.”
Cold in July is the story of murder and revenge. The thriller features Michael C. Hall who plays Richard Dane. Don Johnson and Sam Shepard co-star in the film. The movie was written by Jim Mickle and Nick Damici. Mickle has made a splash at Sundance before, and Cold in July gained support early on. B Media Global full financed Cold in July, according to Variety.
Other than Cold in July, Mickle has written and directed We Are What We Are, Stake Land and Mulberry St. Cold in July will be released this Summer.
