Inside Llewyn Davis the latest Coen brothers' film is already earning Oscar buzz and has now received another high honor. Davis was named the year's best film by the National Society of Film Critics on Saturday. Oscar Isaac was also named best actor.
Inside Llewyn Davis tells the story of a struggling New York folk singer back in 1961. The film stars, Issac Slade, Justin Timberlake, Carey Mulligan and John Goodman.
Reuters reported that the National Society of Film Critics is made up of 56 prominent movie critics from a variety of media outlets, including, newspaper, online and magazines.
Davis also won for directing, the Cohen Brothers took home best directing from the National Society of Film Critics.
The LA Times reported other winners included, Cate Blanchett was named best actress for Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine. Blanchett plays a trouble wife of a financial fraudster. Jennifer Lawrence won for best supporting actress for her scene stealing roll in American Hustle.
American Hustle and 12 Years a Slave placed second and third in the voting for best film.
