Producer J. J. Abrams' Bad Robot production staff has had the windows of his Los Angeles studio office blacked out to keep Star Wars movie details a secret.
WENN reports that Abrams' production staff has gone to extreme measures to try and keep the new Disney Star Wars: Episode VII film a secret.
In the past, Abrams worked hard to keep casting and plot information from his Star Trek films a secret, and apparently his habits have rubbed off on his Bad Robot production staff, but Abrams believes it to be a little extreme.
"Are you kidding me? My god. My office ... I'm working on the Star Wars script today, and the people in my office have covered up all my windows with black paper," Abrams said. "I guess they wanted to make sure no one could see what I was doing ... It seems rather extreme."
Abrams already discussed that Jesse Plemons (Breaking Bad) is in talks for a role in the film, but is not releasing any more information. However, Carrie Fisher has confirmed that she will be returning as Princess Leia, and Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill will also be returning.
Abrams spoke about how different it is to keep secrets about Star Wars than it was his other film franchise, Star Trek.
"Star Wars is in every way a different animal," Abrams told the Daily Telegraph. "It's always been a more open, fan-engaged universe than I've been used to, so I'm sure there'll be some sort of compromise. But it feels to me like there's a purity in not knowing every little thing."
Star Wars: Episode VII is scheduled to release Dec. 18, 2015.
