Jennifer Carpenter, the actress known for her role in Dexter, is taking on a new role. She will be performing in Sea of Fire.
Dexter has been a fan favorite since 2006. Carpenter was seen as Miami detective, Debra Morgan. According to Variety, Michael C. Hall co-starred with Carpenter in the serial killer drama. In addition to Dexter, Carpenter also appeared in Seeking Justice, Quarantine, and The Good Wife.
After wrapping the Dexter last year, Carpenter told The Hollywood Reporter, "I want to find something great, but I'm daring and patient enough to find something that I can give everything to."
In the new series, Sea of Fire, Carpenter will be playing FBI agent Leah Pierce. Sea of Fire is set to air on ABC. Scandal's Jenna Bans will write the script and executive produce, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Rob Golenberg, Alon Aranya, David Hoberman,Todd Lieberman, Laurie Zaks, Robert Kievit and Frank Ketelaar also will executive produce. Allison Liddi-Brown is slated to direct the pilot.
