A jury is prepared to listen to a rerun of the testimony given by a man accused of shooting at more than 20 vehicles on a Michigan freeway two years ago.
According to the Lansing State Journal, on Tuesday, the jury sent a note to the judge asking if they could hear back the shooter’s recorded hours-long testimony. The judge denied the request at first, but said if they could not go off their own memories then he would allow them to listen to it again.
Well the Associated Press has reported that the jury of five men and seven women will in fact listen to a rerun of the entire testimony first thing Wednesday morning.
Raulie Casteel does not contest that he pulled the trigger, but contends that it was without premeditation.
Premeditation is needed in this case for a conviction of the terrorism and assault with intent to murder charges.
The 44-year-old Casteel is accused of shooting at random cars over a three-day period along the Interstate 96 corridor in Michigan.
Both of the charges he is contesting carry life sentences.
