Justin Timberlake has the top selling album of 2013 with The 20/20 Experience. The latest album from Timberlake sold a total of 2.43 million copies.
Billboardreported that even in this very low year of album sales, Timberlake's record was the only one to sell over two million copies in 2013.
These numbers mark the lowest top-seller in SoundScan's in the past 22 years that the organization has been tracking sales, Rolling Stone added. The previous low happened back in 2008, with Lil Wayne's album Tha Carter III which sold 2.87 million copies.
Rounding out the top five for best selling albums in 2013 include, Eminem, Imagine Dragons, Bruno Mars and Luke Bryan.
Country music had another strong year on the charts and in sales with acts like Blake Shelton and Luke Bryan but the genre that had the best selling album and song goes to pop music.
The most downloaded and purchased single of the year was "Blurred Lines" by Robin Thicke. The song was downloaded over 6.5 million times. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop" was a close second, making 6.15 million.
