Kristen Stewart and Jennifer Lawrence’s boyfriend Nicholas Hoult have signed on to star in the remake of Equals. The film is written by Nathan Parker as a sort of remake of George Orwell's 1984, and it will be directed by Drake Doremus in the first film he will work on that he hasn’t written himself.

In a new interview with the AP, Stewart admitted she’s “terrified” about shooting the film with the X-Men: Days of Future Past star. They will begin production later this year.

"I can't believe I agreed to do it," adding, "I'm terrified of it. Though it's a movie with a really basic concept, it's overtly ambitious."

The Telegraph reports the film is described as an updated version of Orwell’s 1949 novel and the 1956 film that was made on it.

"InEquals, things go wrong because you can't deny the humanity in everyone," Stewart continued. "It's the most devastating story."

Doremus revealed that Lawrence read for Stewart’s part but just didn’t feel connected to it. He also explained, "It became evident in my head that Nick and Kristen would have great chemistry,” Us Weekly reports.

Doremus has worked with Lawrence in 2001’s Like Crazy.
