Lana Del Rey will be covering the Disney classic “Once Upon a Dream” for Angelina Jolie’s latest film, Maleficent.
According to The Daily Mail , Angelina Jolie personally chose the 27-year-old sultry singer to sing the beloved song which appeared in the original Sleeping Beauty film.
The song is set to release on January 26, the same night as the Grammy’s, and will be sold for $1.29, Hypable reports.
Rey is known for her seductive, dark voice after her two studio releases, Born To Die and Paradise. She was also featured on the soundtrack to The Great Gatsby for her hit single, “Young and Beautiful.”
Jolie supposedly hand-picked the singer and has also been “incredibly active in all aspects of the movie, even bagging a role for her daughter Vivienne, so it’s no surprise that she helped choose who would sing the song,” said a source of The Daily Mail.
It has been reported that Jolie‘s daughter will be playing the role of young Princess Aurora for the film.
