Much like George Lucas with Star Wars, Jimmy Page is remastering the entire Led Zeppelin catalog, again, and is set to release Led Zeppelin, Led Zeppelin II, and Led Zeppelin III this year.
According to Rolling Stone though this version will be a bit different than in the last round of reissues, which was 20 years ago, with what Page himself explained each album will be released as a Deluxe Edition with “added sonic and visual thrills.” The reissues are set to include alternate versions of songs as well as concert versions that haven’t ever been officially released before.
Robert Plant also spoke about the reissues during an interview with BBC Radio 6 stating there were songs with lead vocals by bassist John Paul Jones. Plant joked that in order for those versions to not reach the light of day, Jones offered Plant two cars and a greenhouse.
Jimmy Page also made reference on his website that he would release some of my own material from the archives" but gave no specifics when or if he was referring to collaborative or from his own solo career.
