Information continues to pour in, following the Saturday morning shooting in a Columbia, Maryland mall.
According to CNN, a shooting at The Mall in Columbia was called in to the Howard County Police Department at 11:15 am. At least three have been confirmed dead, including the suspected gunman. The police department has taken to Twitter to continue updating the public on this event.
A tweet a 1:46 pm stated that the police “are confirming the location of the shooting was a skate shop called Zumiez on the mall’s upper level.”
Shortly after the shooting was reported, the mall was closed to the public. The HCPD urged those still in the mall to stay inside until the area was secured. According to USA Today, the mall has been evacuated but will stay closed until Sunday.
The police department is currently working to identify the suspect as well as the deceased victims.
No motive for the shooting has been confirmed thus far.
