Celebrities are gearing up for the 86th Annual Academy Awards following yesterday’s nominations. As A-listers in Hollywood are preparing for the ceremony, audience members in Spain found out that they won’t have to miss this year’s contenders.

Mediaset Spain announced that they acquired Spanish broadcasting rights for seven of the films nominated for Academy Awards. Viewers in Spain will be able to see American Hustle, Philomena, Frozen, The Croods, Iron Man 3, The Book Thief, and Star Trek Into Darkness, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Good to know that there are increased options for seeing the Oscar contenders.

Mediaset Spain is Spain’s most profitable channel. Mediaset Spain currently owns other channels as well, including Telecino. In December, executives were deciding if they should merge Mediaset Spain and Mediaset Italy. The plan would entail creating a new company.

According to Variety, an announcement by Mediaset said, “The evaluation will examine international development potential, possible synergies, the expansion of over-the-top services, as well as the eventual involvement of industrial and/or financial partners in the newco.”
