Actress Meg Ryan, known for starring in a number of A-list Hollywood films, is busy with her new project, Ithaca. The Exchange has acquired worldwide sales rights to the film.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Ithaca is the film adaptation of the William Saroyan novel, The Human Comedy. She’ll be starring alongside Sam Shepard, Melanie Griffith, and Jack Quaid. Ryan is being credited as the director and actor in the film.

According to Variety, Exchange CEO Brian O’Shea said, “Ithaca’ is a story all can relate to: a quintessential coming-of-age story. The Exchange is excited to watch Saroyan’s words burst with the kind of joy and energy certain to light up the big screen.”

Erik Jendresen has penned the script for Ithaca. Janet Brenner and Laura Ivey will be producing the film. The Exchange will begin selling rights to buyers in Berlin during the Berlin Film Festival.

Meg Ryan is known for starring in When Harry Met Sally, The Doors, Sleepless in Seattle, and Kate & Leopold. She has been seen on the small screen in Web Therapy and Curb Your Enthusiasm.
