Michael Douglas has been cast as Hank Pym in Edgar Wright’s upcoming 2015 film Ant-Man.

In the Marvel Comics universe, Henry “Hank” Pym is a scientist who creates a substance that allows him to grow and shrink his body, allowing him to become the superhero Ant-Man, as reported by MTVhref>. In the comics, Pym also invents the villain Ultron, who is confirmed to be the titular villain in Avengers: Age of Ultron, which is also due in 2015.

Michael Douglas recently won a Golden Globe award for his performance as Liberace in Steven Soderbergh’s Behind the Candelabra. Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said in a press release on Marvel’s websitehref> that "With Hank Pym's rich history in the Marvel Universe, we knew we needed an actor capable of bringing the weight and stature to the role that the character deserves.”

Paul Rudd has also been cast in the film as Scott Lang. As the Los Angeles Timeshref> explained, Lang is a former thief who takes on the name of Ant-Man after Hank Pym.
