Michael Schumacher, the Formula One race car driver who was injured in a skiing accident, remains in stable condition.
Schumacher’s medical team is still concerned and carefully monitoring him. At this time, his health is too fragile to consider moving him to a different medical center.
"We are still in a critical situation," she Sabine Kehm in a report to CNN.
After skiing in the French Alps, Schumacher fell and hit a rock. He was rushed to University Hospital Center of Grenoble hospital where he had surgery. The surgery is intended to relieve pressure on Schumacher’s brain.
Emmanuel Gay, head of the hospital’s neurosurgery service told Reuters that he had a large hematoma on his brain. Because the build up of blood on his brain was more accessible, they were able to remove it without risk.
Schumacher, who is 45 years old, is known to be fearless and has won seven world titles. He has driven for Ferrari and Mercedes. Schumacher's wife and family released a statement expressing thanks for the support of fans.
