When Miguel worked with Beyonce on her latest, self-titled album, he said that he imagined himself as her husband, Jay Z, to get the sexy lyrics right.

The “Adorn” singer wrote such racy lyrics for Beyonce as "let me sit this a-- on you" in her song “Rocket.” On the Grammys’ red carpet on Sunday night, he told MTV News’ Sway Calloway that Beyonce made the song-writing process a lot easier.

“If I was Jay, what would I want her to sing to me? And what have we not heard from Beyoncé yet and that's where the very first line comes from in the song," he told Calloway about working with the “Drunk in Love” singer.

He also said that she approached him before they started working together and said "[She said] 'Listen, I feel so empowered at this time and place. You don't have to put me on a pedestal.' Never mind that it's Beyoncé.”

"It was so matter-of-fact and really we were in the studio and she was there, she just had the baby, she was looking beautiful, her skin was glowing and she was ready to create,” he said about Beyonce just giving birth to her now 2-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.

Beyonce opened the 56th Annual Grammy Awards with her husband, Jay Z, singing their hit “Drunk in Love.”

She recently made history when she released her self-titled album unbeknownst to anyone, without any marketing or hype beforehand.
