On Jan. 29, Miley Cyrus will premiere a new music special on MTV. It is called Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged.
Amy Doyle, executive vp music and talent programming strategy for MTV told The Hollywood Reporter, “The Unplugged stage has been home to some of the most iconic live performances of all time. Miley’s vision for the performance is like nothing we’ve ever seen. I can say that this will easily be one of the most memorable Unplugged performances to date.”
According to the The Huffington Post, Cyrus’s new album didn’t make the Sept. 30th deadline for this year’s Grammys. That’s not to say that her most recent effort has gone unnoticed. The latest album, Bangerz, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200.
On Miley Cyrus: MTV Unplugged, Cyrus will show off tunes from her new album. The Unplugged series was created by Robert Small and Jim Burns. Nirvana, Jay Z, Bob Dylan, and Bruce Springsteen have taken to the Unplugged stage without all the flash of pyro or big electrics.
Miley Cyrus won MTV’s best artist of 2013.
