The nominations for the Annual Academy of Country Music Awards were announced on Wednesday. Tim McGraw and Miranda Lambert lead the nominations.
The Academy of Country Music took an innovative approach this year in revealing this year’s contenders. Nominees were announced in a series of videos on social media, according to the Associated Press.
Lambert is nominated for Entertainer of the Year. Her albums include Miranda Lambert, Kerosene, Revolution, and Four the Record. Lambert has won five times in the female vocalist of the year category. Her “Mama's Broken Heart” earned nominations for single record, song, and video of the year. She has also enjoyed short stints on television and previously appeared on Project Runway.
Tim McGraw began his career in 1993 with the self-titled album, Tim McGraw. Recent albums include Emotional Traffic, Southern Voice, Let It Go, and Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors. In 1995, McGraw won the ACM Top New Male Vocalist trophy. This year, he is running for Album of the Year for Two Lanes Of Freedom, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The Awards show will be broadcast live on April 6 in Las Vegas.
