A Nashville high school is busy preparing for the visit of President Obama. The President will make a trip to McGavock High School on Thursday.

As this visit is invitation-only there are no public tickets, and the crowd will be made of students, school staff, and Nashville officials. Security is tight as Nashville’s Metro Police are teaming with the Secret Service to ensure the President’s safety.

According to Thetennessean nearly 120 police members consisting of Traffic and Flex officers from various precincts will be assigned to the grand visit.

This will be the second consecutive year that a member of the Obama family visited Tennessee’s capital city. Last year Nashville graciously welcomed First Lady, Michelle Obama, as she served as the Commencement speaker at Martin Luther King Magnet School’s graduation.

According to newschannel5 last year’s host principal, Shunn Turner, has some words of advice for McGavock Principal, Robin Wall. Turner advises, “I would say really enjoy the recognition for his hard work, for his students (and) for his school."
