The ratings may be terrible, but the acclaimed Parks and Recreation has earned a seventh season, meaning there’s more to the story of Leslie Knope and the rest of Pawnee.
On Sunday, NBC Entertainment chief Bob Greenblatt told the media at the Television Critics Association Press tour that it “is going to have a seventh season,” notes The Hollywood Reporter. The renewal isn’t exactly set in stone, but Greenblatt expressed confidence in the show continuing.
However, the network isn’t completely confident on the future of Dan Harmon’s Community. E! News reports that NBC entertainment president Jennifer Salke said there’s a “strong” possibility that it comes back. Even though Parks & Rec was renewed, it “doesn't mean Community isn't,” she added.
Parks & Rec stars Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope, an over-ambitious politician in a fictional small Indiana town. The show co-stars Adam Scott, Aziz Ansari and Nick Offerman. Rob Lowe and Rashida Jones are leaving this season. Poehler won a Golden Globe for the show this month.
NBC has also signed a three-year deal with Poehler, who co-created a new pilot NBC is developing.
