Capitol Music Group has signed Neil Diamond to their label. Capitol Music Group chairman and CEO Steve Barnett and Universal Music Group chairman CEO Lucian Grainge are making certain that fans will be able to hear the legendary musician’s work in years to come.

The Grammy Award winning artist, 72, will be writing new material for the album and will begin recording later this year. These songs will add to the many hit records from the singer. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Diamond has sold 48.5 million albums in the United States. He is the ninth-largest selling male solo artist in history. He has an incredible 53 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart. Neil Diamond’s famous songs include “Heartlight,” “Cracklin’ Rose,” “Song Sung Blue,” and “You Don’t Bring Me Flowers” with Barbra Steisand. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He was an honoree at the Kennedy Center.

In 2012, Diamond received the Legend of Live Billboard Touring Awards, according to Billboard. Diamond is considered one of the concert industry’s top artists.
