Expect to see Hillary Clinton on the cover of Sunday’s addition of The New York Times magazine, but not how you may expect.
The cover will depict the secretary of state as a physical planet. The Times explained their reasoning for the cover as an accompaniment of one of their articles. In this article, which is written by Amy Chozick, Clinton’s role in the “political universe” will be described.
The former first lady, and possible 2016 presidential candidate, was also the topic of discussion for last week’s cover, posing the question: “Can anyone stop Hillary?” However this new cover, according to Yahoo News, is going viral on Twitter and other social media sites.
According to The Atlantic, the image started off by reflecting Clinton’s face from Earth’s water. Then, the Times made Clinton the moon, in order to simplify the picture. Finally, it was decided to make Clinton a complete planet, which was meant to suggest that she is part of a bigger universe.
In the final draft, “Planet Hillary” is placed in the middle of various characters in her “orbit”, posing the question: “Can she make the stars align, or will chaos prevail?”
