As the Sundance Film Festival continues, musician Nick Cave took to the stage in Park City, Utah on Monday to play some songs for festival attendees.
Cave is at Sundance to promote his new movie, 20,000 Days on Earth. In the movie, Nick Cave marks his 20,000th day on the planet Earth. 20,000 Days on Earth is produced by BFI, Film4, and Pulse Films and is one of the films set to reach fans in the U.S. and abroad.
BFI Film Fund director, Ben Roberts told Variety, “We know the U.K. is consistently producing films that wow audiences and critics at A-list festivals around the world, but in a competitive international market some of these excellent films can nevertheless struggle to secure that all-important U.S. distribution, which can do so much to showcase U.K. talent to cinema audiences and critics in the States.”
While promoting 20,000 Days on Earth at Sundance, Cave provided renditions of songs written in years past. No stranger to bridging the worlds of music and film, Cave has contributed to the soundtracks for About Time and The English Teacher. According to The Hollywood Reporter, he asked audience members to assist him while playing, “People Ain’t No Good.”
