Singer Nicole Scherzinger will be set for life, at least as long as she continues to produce new music. The U.K. X Factor judge reportedly signed a huge, $4.9 million recording contract.
The news was reported by the U.K.’s The Sun. According to WENN, the deal is with Sony Music and would kick off with a new album in summer 2014.
A source explained to the paper that Scherzinger is the most popular aspect of the U.K. edition of Simon Cowell’s singing competition and is the “real winner in terms of bankability.” The deal isn’t signed just yet, but she’s looking forward to going back to the studio and doing X Factor again.
According to E! News, Scherzinger was recently in the news because of her on-again, off-again relationship with Lewis Hamilton, a race car driver. She had to explain to The Sun in November that they are “just friends” now.
Scherzinger was previously a member of the Pussycat Dolls. She was a judge on the first season of the U.S. X Factor, but decided agaisnt returning to the show.
If an album comes out in summer 2014, it will be her first since 2011’s Killer Love. She had also recorded Her Name is Nicole, although that was not released.
