Police have identified 19-year-old Darion Marcus Aguilar as the gunman in the Maryland mall shooting. It is believed that he is one of the three dead.

Howard County Police Chief William McMahon stated that Aguilar, who was a student at College Park, arrived at the mall just after 10 a.m. on Saturday and was carrying a shotgun. He killed two other individuals before taking his own life.

According to Yahoo News, the police department is now trying to determine if the gunman knew any of the victims in the shooting. The victims, identified as 21-year old Brianna Benlolo of College Park, Md., and 25-year-old Tyler Johnson, were both working at a skateboard shop in the mall called Zumiez.

NY Times reports that there were five individuals that also suffered minor injuries. All of them were released from the hospital by Saturday evening.

Police stated that it took a while to identify Aguilar because he was carrying ammunition and a backpack. Police were concerned that he may have been carrying explosives.
