Authorities in Michigan are searching for a woman in connection with bags of human body parts that were dumped on a roadway Thursday afternoon.

WJBK first reported that police said several bags containing body parts were found near Interstate 94 in St. Clair. It is unclear whether the parts came from one or more people.

According to the Times Herald, Sheriff Timothy Donnellon said police received a tip that a woman was seen tossing garbage out the window while driving. They are looking for a middle-aged white female in a ‘90s gray or tan SUV, similar to a GMC Jimmy or Chevy Blazer.

Earlier reports indicated that as many as five bags had been found at the scene, but that number has not yet been confirmed.

The roadway where the remains were discovered will be closed while the investigation continues.

Anyone with additional information about the bags or whereabouts of the woman and her vehicle are asked to call police.
