After baptizing 32 children, the Pope assured mothers that it would be fine if they breastfed their children in the Sistine Chapel.

According to Reuters , the Pope said, “If they are hungry, mothers, feed them, without thinking twice. Because they are the most important people here.”

The Pope poured water over the child’s head, and said a few short words during the service. He is the most laid back of his predecessors, according to the Reuters. The Pope has said that “the Church must not make children of couples in irregular situations feel like second-class faithful.” He baptized a child of parents who married in a civil service, rather than in the Church.

The Pope, who was elected, last March, gave up the papal apartments, and the papal limousine. He prefers the guest house apartments, and to drive around in a Ford Focus.

This Sunday, the Pope appointed 19 new cardinals, 16 of which will be able to enter conclave, according to CNN.
