President Barack Obama has vowed to raise awareness for rape in an effort to focus the spotlight on the seriousness of the issue. His newest target has become college campuses.

According to ABC News, a report named "Rape and Sexual Assault: A Renewed Call to Action" revealed that 1 in 5 women are sexually assaulted on college campuses. Only 12 percent of them report what happened to them though.

A more advanced report on rape on college campuses also came out, stating that 22 million American women and 1.6 million men have been sexually assaulted at some point in their lives.

According to the NY Times, Obama said that a big priority is to see men report sexual assaults when they see them. He's giving his task force 90 days to brainstorm recommendations for colleges to prevent and intervene in attacks.

Obama also wants men to "feel strong peer pressure in how they treat women" as they intervene when they see sexual assaults.
