What if the world-wide social networking site, Facebook was just some toy that is losing its shine or maybe it is like a disease that has spread as much as it could and was now coming to an end?

According to researchers at the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Princeton University, “Facebook will undergo a rapid decline in the coming years, losing 80% of its peak user base between 2015 and 2017.”

This study did a comparison between MySpace and Facebook and the world knows what happened to MySpace. So based on their research, Facebook will meet the same fate as its predecessor. In this report, the researchers made an interesting comparison to these social networking sites.

”Ideas, like diseases, have been shown to spread infectiously between people before eventually dying out, and have been successfully described with epidemiological models,” writes the researchers.

In this day and age, Facebook users have too much invested in their online communities that anything else would have to be what it is and even more.

The online experience has changed significantly since Myspace’s awareness grew in 2005, writes the NBC News.

So Facebook users, 2014 might be the last big year.
