Ken Anderson, production manager for the band, KISS, died of cancer. His family announced his death last week.
Anderson was responsible for the blood spitting, pyrotechnic spectacles that made KISS concerts some of the most popular shows around. Anderson had worked on Jesus Christ Superstar before teaming with KISS manager Bill Aucoin to produce the awe-inspiring events that made KISS a favorite among music fans.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, KISS said in a statement on its website that Anderson “was dedicated to our cause, and his skill was in evidence to anyone who saw our stages during those years.”
KISS is a popular band that catapulted on to the music scene in the mid 1970s. They were selected as one of the many groups to be inducted as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame's class of 2014 at Brooklyn's Barclays Center, according to Billboard. KISS was reportedly the top vote-getter in the fan vote for the Rock Hall, commanding 17.2 percent of the vote. The fan vote was counted alongside the more than 700 professional votes.
