Best friends Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato grew up together from a young age during a stint in Barney and Friends and later joined each other as Disney channel starlets. However, Gomez just recently opened up about a falling-out she had with Lovato during her time in rehab.
According to EntertainmentWise.com, Gomez told Seventeen Magazine that although they’ve known each other since they were 7, the girls did have their differences at some points which lead to a fall-out.
Gomez elaborates saying, “"She was going through things and I was so young and it was confusing. I processed it saying, 'OK, I don't understand what she's going through so I'm just going to do this.' I don't think it was fair, and I'm so happy that I have her back in my life now."
E! Online also spoke about Gomez’s recent interview with Seventeen Magazine and how she looks up to Lovato’s strength and perseverance.
She says regarding Lovato, “I feel like we're all given what we can handle, and clearly someone thought she could handle so much—and she could, and she did. And she's incredible for that. I couldn't imagine going through some of the things that she went through, and the fact that she is who she is today is insane—she's one of my inspirations."
Although both coy on exactly why the two had a falling out, both are undoubtedly grateful to be back in each others lives. The former Wizards of Waverly Place star even talked of how she confides in Lovato for her “deepest, darkest secrets”. Gomez earned fame through her Disney channel series and has had success in the music industry as well. Lovato became known through her role as Mitchie in the Disney Channel original movie seriesCamp Rock.
