Shia LaBeouf has had a whirlwind last few weeks and he’s now revealing that he will be removing himself from the public eye entirely. The actor has been under fire for plagiarizing David Clowes' Justin M. Damiano in his short film HowardCantour.com and has been making headlines ever since for the way he’s reacted to public backlash.
Early Friday, LaBeouf took to Twitter to reveal, “In light of the recent attacks against my artistic integrity, I am retiring from all public life.” He added, “My love goes out to those who have supported me.” LaBeouf ended with “#stopcreating.”

LaBeouf is facing legal repercussions of his failure to site Clowes’ work and he’s been raising eyebrows for the way he’s responding to it all. He’s sent out multiple apology tweets, which all have turned out to be taken from other people.
LaBeouf even hired a skywriter to apologize to Clowes, with "I am sorry Daniel Clowes" written in the sky on New Year's Day.
