There are many ways to get a college scholarship. However, standing on the side of the road holding a sign is probably the least expected way.
It was just another day of work for a young man in Louisville, Kentucky, by the name of Montez Jones. That is until Kevin Cosby, the President of Simmons College of Kentucky, decided to stop and chat.
The President asked Jones if he knew who he was, but the sign holder was unaware. He then informed him that he was "Reverend Cosby from Saint Stephen" and explained to to the young man that he had a wonderful offer for him.
Cosby offered Jones a $20,000 full ride scholarship to Simmons College of Kentucky.
Cosby told WDRB that he was only doing this to "show what confidence, hard work, and discipline can do for a person".
Jones explained that he had always had high hopes of one day becoming a doctor but his life was drastically changed after being arrested.
According to Yahoo! News, Jones is ready for a fresh start and is very grateful for the opportunity he has been given.
"I ain't going to let Reverend Cosby down," said Jones.
