I, Frankenstein was the only new wide release this weekend. Digital data is showing that odds are I, Frankenstein will not be able to displace Ride Along at the box office.
Variety reported that social media numbers for the film are very comparable to that of 47 Ronin. Which was a high budget fantasy film that did not make back a profit.
I, Frankenstein only have 178,000 likes on Facebook and the trailer has under 10 million views on YouTube. The film which stars Aaron Eckhart, only has 76,000 tweets and search volume of 150,000.
There are 35,000 Twitter followers on the official account for the film that are likely to turn out and support the film, also studio executives are hoping that movie goers that liked Eckhart in The Dark Knight might check out the film.
The reviews for I, Frankenstein have not been favorable. Time magazine said that it wasn't the worst film ever made. "I, Frankenstein isn’t just a bad movie — it is an abysmally awful one," said the film critic.
The film has a 4% out of 100 on Rotten Tomatoes.
