A shooting took place at South Carolina State University on Friday, and one of their football players was taken away.
Brandon A. Robinson, 20, was fatally shot outside Andrew Hugine Suites, a dorm complex on campus, according to USA Today. Robinson was from Orangeburg, South Carolina.
Robinson was taken to a local hospital after being shot. After the shooting took place, the entire campus was placed on lockdown while the police searched for the alleged shooter. Everyone on lockdown was free to leave around 6 p.m. though. The police believe the suspects fled the scene.
Robinson played defensive line for the school’s football team. University president Thomas Elzey spoke at an evening news conference and became emotional. He referred to Robinson as “a very nice young man” and said, “it hurts us all.”
There are four suspects who are believed to have been involved in the shooting, according to NY Daily News. They remain at large, and no motive for the murder has been revealed yet.
