Authorities have arrested a suspected mob soldier in New Jersey after 65 pounds of pot was found in his vehicle.
According to NJ.com, state police have said that troopers made the discovery when they stopped a truck driven by Carlo Taccetta, a suspected soldier in the Lucchese crime family.
Sgt. Brian Polite said in a statement released Sunday that the 41-year-old’s Dodge Ram pickup truck was stopped around 1:30 a.m. Saturday as the result of "an ongoing investigation.”
Taccetta willing allowed officers to search his truck in which they discovered the marijuana.
The Lucchese crime family is one of the families that dominates organized crime activities in New York City.
The Montville Patch has reported that Taccetta’s father, Michael "Mad Dog," is a capo for the family and presently incarcerated on charges of racketeering, extortion and conspiracy.
Taccetta is charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. Police say his bail is set for $75,000 and there is no 10 percent option.
