On Saturday, Raisheem Rochwell turned himself in to the police after shooting a boy and girl at the Delaware Charter School in Philadelphia, Pa on Friday. Rochwell is being charged as an adult, and his bail is set at $500,000.

These charges include aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and weapon possession.

According to the ABC News , Rochwell’s lawyer, Amato Samita said that it was too early to tell how the boy would plead, and that “Rochwell is not the person who would ultimately be found at fault for the shooting.” There is a preliminary hearing next week.

The two students that were shot were sent to the Albert Einstein Medical Center to be treated. The girl, who was shot in the arm, was treated and let go, while the boy, hit in the shoulder by the same bullet, remained at the hospital, but in good condition.

According to the Associated Press, Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey said, “police didn’t know what staffing or security procedures were in place at the school but there was a breakdown in security of some kind’’ because the gun was undetected when Rochwell entered the building.

The charter school will be opened on Tuesday, after Martin Luther King day.
