Max Wade, 19, has been sentenced to life in prison for stealing Food Network star Guy Fieri’s Lamborghini. The weighty sentence isn’t solely based on the auto theft, he’s also charged with attempted murder.
Wade attempted a drive-by shooting in Mill Valley, Calif. back in April and when detectives found out who he was, an investigation led them to the Lamborghini. He tried to shoot Landon Wahlstrom, 18, and his girlfriend Eva Dedier, 17, of Terra Linda but they were only injured by the shattered glass.
According to USA Today, detectives found the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star’s expensive car in Wade’s storage locker. He stole it back in 2011 when the $200,000 car was at a repair shop in San Francisco.
Wade, of Marin County, was then discovered to be planning a heist to steal $6 million worth of jewelry from a jewelry store, Marin Independent Journal reports.
"It's a shocking case, and I'm sorry to be the judge who sentences such a young person to such a long sentence," said Judge Kelly Simmons. "But he deserves it."
