Tragedy has struck the state of Colorado yet again, when this morning a high school student set himself on fire in their school’s cafeteria.
The Huffington Post> that there are no reasons revealed yet why the student had lit himself on fire, or whether it was a suicide attempt.
An adult at the school, who received minor cuts from breaking glass to retrieve the fire extinguisher, put out the fire and classes at the school were cancelled for the rest of the day after the incident.
Yahoo news> also reported on the incident and released a statement from the school that claimed, “A student sustained severe burns when he entered the school cafeteria and lit himself on fire. The student has been transported to an area hospital and is in critical condition. Our hearts and prayers go out the family and school community.”
It is also being reported that investigators are beginning to look at social media sites to see if there were any signs or clues as to why the young 16 year-old teen did so much harm to himself.
Unfortunately, Colorado was hit with a school tragedy last month when a student shot another student at Arapahoe High School.
Hopefully no more horrible incidents take place in Colorado for a very long while.
