Movie producer James Jacks suffered a heart attack on Monday in Los Angeles while at home. Jacks was only 66.

His executive producing stint for the 1987 Joel and Ethan Coen film Raising Arizona, which starred Nicolas Cage, was his first producing credit, reports Variety. He then produced Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused with Sean Daniel, who would become his longtime producing partner as Alphaville Films.

Despite having multiple producing credits over the past 30 years, including Tombstone, Michael, The Hunted and The Jackal, Jacks is most known for producing the hit Mummy franchise that starred Brendan Fraser.

According to TheWrap, producing The Mummy series brought him major success and made Jacks one of the most commercially profitable producers in the late 1990's.

His producing partner Daniels wrote on Facebook about Jacks. "Nobody loved movies more. Passionate, loyal, generous, accomplished, noble, caring, heavily armed, creative, dare I say obsessive on occasion. ... You will be missed."
