This week, Rap artists dominated the Grammys. Jay-Z opened the show with Beyonce, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis were named Best New Artist and Kendrick Lamar performed an unforgettable mash-up with Imagine Dragons.

Power couple Jay-Z and Beyonce opened the show with a live performance of 'Drunk In Love' from Beyonce's self-titled album. According to Hollywood Reporter, this was Beyonce's first televised performance since the release of her album. It was also the second year in a row that Jay-Z has performed at the Grammy's. It has been an insane year for both Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. Both The Heist and Good Kid, M.A.A.D City recieved overwhelemingly positive reviews and were ranked among the best albums of 2013. Both albums were also nominated for the Best Rap Album, among Drake's Nothing Was The Same, Kanye West's Yeezus and Jay-Z's Magna Carta...Holy Grail. Macklemore won the award but later he shared some surprising thoughts on the win. Some of which he shared on Instagram.

"You got robbed. I wanted you to win" said Macklemore in a screenshot of the text message he sent to Kendrick Lamar. In the caption, Macklemore explains his thoughts on his win, "My text to Kendrick after the show. He deserved best rap album... I'm honored and completely blown away to win anything much less 4 Grammys. But in that category, he should have won IMO. And that's taking nothing away from The Heist. Just giving GKMC it's proper respect.."

However, the night wasn't over for Kendrick Lamar. Even though he walked away with 0 of the 7 awards that he was nominated for, his performance with alternative rock band, Imagine Dragons, was the best of the night. Watch the mash-up of 'Radioactive' and 'M.A.A.D City' over at VIBE.

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis also did a memorable live performance of Same Love while Queen Latifah officiated 33 weddings. The performance also featured Madonna and Mary Lambert.

On top of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis winning Best New Artist & Best Rap Album, the duo also won the awards for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song for 'Thrift Shop'. Jay-Z, who was nominated for the most Grammy's, walked away with the awards for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for 'Holy Grail' and Best Music Video for 'Suit & Tie'. Overall it was a great night for Rap/Hip Hop artists.
