Super Bowl XLVIII is on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey. The Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks will be battling it out for the Vince Lombardi trophy. The Broncos are the top seed in the AFC. The Seahawks are the top seed in the NFC. This means that the two best teams in the NFL this season will be competing in the Super Bowl. It’s only the second time in 20 years that the top two teams played in the big game. With the top two teams going at it, the game should be a good one. 10. Super Bowl III: The New York Jets beat the Baltimore Colts 16-7. Jets quarterback Joe Namath allowed the fewest points in an NFL season. He threw eight receptions for 133 yards as the Jets dominated the game. The Jets defense had four interceptions.

9. Super Bowl XIV: The Los Angeles Rams led the Pittsburgh Steelers 13-10 at the half. They also had the lead twice in the third quarter. Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw’s 73-yard pass to John Stallworth gave the Steelers the lead for good. The Steelers won 31-19.

8. Super Bowl XXIII: The San Francisco 49ers trailed 16-13 late in the fourth quarter. Joe Montana was unstoppable on a 92-yard drive and got John Taylor to score the winning touchdown. Jerry Rice was the Super Bowl MVP with 215 receiving yards as the 49ers won 20-16. It was the third of Montana’s four Super Bowl titles.

7. Super Bowl XXV: This was the first of four straight Super Bowl appearances for the Buffalo Bills. The New York Giants kept the Bills offense off the field for over 40 minutes and led 20-19 late in the game. The Bills tried to win it with a field goal on the final drive but it was no good.

6. Super Bowl XLIII: The Arizona Cardinals trailed 10-0 early, and were in a position to tie the game before halftime until James Harrison’s Super Bowl record 100-yard interception touchdown run. Larry Fitzgerald had six catches for 115 yards and two touchdowns in the fourth quarter for the Cardinals. Santonio Holmes had four receptions, including one for a touchdown, for the Pittsburgh Steelers to give them the win 27-23. It was the Steelers second Super Bowl win in four years and its sixth overall.

5. Super Bowl XLIV: The Indianapolis Colts had a 10-0 lead, but the New Orleans Saints closed the gap to 10-6 at the half. The Colts led 17-16 late in the fourth before a missed field goal and a Saints scoring drive. Peyton Manning was picked off by Tracy Porter, who ran for 74 yards to clinch the win for the Saints with three minutes left. The Saints won 31-17.

1. Super Bowl XLII: The New England Patriots were going for a perfect season. They trailed the New York Giants 10-7 before Randy Moss scored the go-ahead touchdown for the Patriots. Giants quarterback Eli Manning found Plaxico Burress to score the game-winning touchdown. The Giants won 17-14 and the Patriots quest for perfection came up short.
