A Washington D.C. woman gave birth to twins three minutes apart, with one being born at the end of 2013 and one being born at the start of 2014.
According to USA Today, a girl, Lorraine Begazo, was born at 11:58 p.m. on New Year’s Eve and her brother, Brandon Begazo, was born at 12:01 a.m. on New Year’s Day.
The twins’ father, Warren Begazo, was elated that the children arrived at the time they did.
"Receiving a present for New Year's - a human being that you are receiving in the first seconds of a New Year - it's speechless, emotionally well and full of joy, hope and realization," said Begazo.
Lorraine weighed 5 pounds, 10 ounces at birth and her little brother weighed 6 pounds, 4 ounces, CNN notes.
The children’s mother, Yaleni, said that the twins will have separate parties every year and cake before and after midnight to celebrate both of their birthdays.
Yaleni and the twins are doing well.
