Two students were injured and one suspect has been taken into custody after a shooting at Delaware Valley Charter High School in Philadelphia.
According to WPVI, the shooting happened inside a gymnasium at the charter school shortly after 3 p.m.
Police say the shooter was a student, who pulled out a handgun in the gym and the weapon went off hitting a one male and one female student.
CBS Philly has reported that authorities are unsure if the shooting was intentional or if it was some type of accident, but other students were in the gym at the time. Each student was shot once in the arm.
The two were taken to an area hospital and are listed in stable condition.
The whole incident was captured on surveillance video inside the school’s gym. The suspect was then easily identified and apprehended.
The high school had to be placed on lockdown until law enforcement was able to check and clear the area.
