Canadian independent filmmakers Adam and Andrew Gray tell the story of Barefoot Bandit. The documentary premiered at the Toronto film festival earlier this month.

Fly Colt Fly: Legend of the Barefoot Bandit tells about the life and capture of Colton Harris-Moore who became obsessed with airplanes and eventually stole a plane. Harris-Moore eluded American authorities for almost three years. The film is told in interviews with family and law enforcement officials. It also uses scenes in animation. The film had a screening on Feb. 16 at TIFF, according to the festival website.

Andrew Gray told the Associated Press, "What was really important to us was to tell the tale that was told through the media, which was the legend of the bandit, as opposed to what happened. Over the course of two years and all of the false information that would come out on the Internet, it was such a complicated story and the truth would often get lost. Everyone sort of used their imagination."

The film was directed by Andrew Gray and Adam Gray who have written and directed many documentaries for television. Fly Colt Fly was their first feature length documentary.
