The Lego Movie is an inventive story dealing with building blocks. It was created by Christopher Miller and Phil Lord.

Matthew Ashton, vice president of creative design for Lego and a producer on the film told the Associated Press, “If you look at Lego as a creative medium, it's very much like modeling clay is in a Wallace & Gromit movie. It's just a different way of expressing a story."

In The Lego Movie, a law-abiding construction worker named Emmet, voiced by Chris Pratt, inadvertently stumbles across a rebellion against leader Lord Business, played by Will Ferrell. Other actors in the film include Will Arnett, Nick Offerman, Alison Brie, and Charlie Day. In the film are characters like Batman and Abraham Lincoln. It is produced by Dan Lin and Roy Lee, according to Variety.

Christopher Miller is known for his work on the television series, How I Met Your Mother and Clone High. Phil Lord is known for his work on Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2 and the television short, Awesometown.

The Lego Movie opens on Feb. 7.
