Fourteen civilians mostly Shiites, were killed, and more were injured after a bomb was detonated near a rickshaw bus, and on a mini-bus on Sunday in Kohat. A child was among the dead.
According to the AP, no group has taken responsibility, however Kohat has seen past attacks by Taliban militants.
Authorities said that around 11 pounds of explosives were planted in a cooking oil container and placed near a bus stop, and was detonated remotely, according to the AFP.
The Pakistani government has tried to establish peace talks with the Taliban; however it was halted when air force jets bombed Taliban hideouts, and killed 18 militants.
To re-start the peace talks, both sides have demanded that each other stop the attacks first.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is a fan of non-violence, wants to continue the peace talks before using military action.
Party leader Altaf Hussain told people who gather in support against the Taliban, by phone, that, "Taliban are cancer for Pakistan. Taliban are cancer for the humanity."
