It was announced Thursday afternoon that the Italian Supreme Court found Knox guilty of the 2007 murder of her former roommate, Meredith Kercher, and Knox is not going down without a fight.

Knox talked to Good Morning America Friday morning in her first interview since the sentencing, and revealed that she was surprised by the decision.

"I did not expect this to happen. I really expected so much better from the Italian justice system," she said.

Knox's former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, was sentenced to 25 years in prison. According to CNN, Sollecito was stopped by Italian authorities Friday morning at the border of Austria and Slovenia after he was told not to leave Italy during the legal process.

Knox's attorney, Ted Simon said of Knox, "She understands more than anyone that wrongful conviction is unjust, not just for the accused, but for the victim, their family, as well as society, and she feels this very personally."

As for being extradited, Knox said "I will never go back willingly to the place where I--I'm gonna fight this until the very end."
