Marvin Gaye's ex-wife and Berry Gordy Jr.'s older sister, Anna Gordy Gaye, passed away on Friday at the age of 92.
Her publicist, Maureen O'Connor, confirmed the Gaye's passing, reports Reuters. She died of natural causes while at her Los Angeles home.
Gaye helped her former husband on two tracks for his What's Going On album. She co-wrote "Flying High (In the Friendly Sky)" and "God is Love." She was married to the singer for 13 years, from 1964 to 1977.
According to Billboard, her family released a statement saying that Gaye "will be deeply missed." Her son, Marvin Gaye III, was with her, as well as others.
In addition to helping on Marvin Gaye's What's Going On record, she also helped her husband on several other hit songs including "Baby, I'm For Real," "The Bells" - which were both written for The Originals - and 70's song "Just to Keep You Satisfied."
Anna Gordy Gaye co-founded Anna Records in 1958 and saw success when Barrett Strong's song "Money (That's What I Want)" became a hit. Her label late became a part of her brother's Motown.
