Arizona governor, Jan Brewer has vetoed the SB 1062 aka "the anti-gay" bill. The bill allowed businesses to deny service to gay and lesbian couples and individuals, because of their religious beliefs.

According to CNN, Governor Brewer vetoed the bill on Wednesday saying, "Religious liberty is a core American and Arizona value. So is non-discrimination."

Many have opposed the bill including, Delta Airlines, the Superbowl host committee and Major League Baseball.

Supporters of the controversial bill, mostly Republicans believe it's their religious right to deny services to anyone in the gay community.

"Freedom loses when fear overwhelms facts and a good bill is vetoed," says Doug Napier, an attorney for the Alliance Defending Freedom group, who helped draft the bill.

Rep. Demion Clinco, who is the only openly gay member of the House of Representatives says, "In her vetoing the bill, I really feel like there is reconciliation within our state, and we can move forward."

Those who opposed the bill believed that SB 1062 is unconstitutional and allows discrimination against gays and lesbians.

Some Arizona businesses even shared their displeasure. According to Time.com, Rocco's Little Chicago Pizzeria in Tucson posted a sign on their window saying, "We reserve the right to refuse service to Arizona legislators."

The owner of the Pizzeria, Rocco DiGrazia said, "Why discriminate against anybody? I'm just trying to make food."
