A woman who came down with the flu virus has died just three weeks after her baby.

According to CNN, Leslie Creekmore, the Arkansas woman who lost her baby three weeks ago after coming down with the H1N1 flu virus, has now lost her own life.

"She's gone now, and the universe itself is lesser for the loss," her husband Chris Creekmore posted to the "Love for Leslie" Facebook group. "I loved her with every iota of my being and beyond, and I have no intention of that changing just because she isn't here with me corporeally."

The Creekmore’s maintained that they were going by what their doctor said and postponed getting flu shots while the 29-year-old was in her first trimester. However, she was rushed to a hospital last month where she miscarried the baby.

The Center for Disease Control and Prevention states that it is safe for a woman to get an influenza shot during her pregnancy. The CDC actually recommends a flu shot for anyone who's pregnant during flu season. The flu shot is made from an inactivated virus, so it is safe for the mother and child during any trimester.

This flu season has been one of the most deadly and with winter still hanging around everyone is reminded to get their shots.
